Chapter 17

Summary 




In this chapter the monster expresses its growing lonliness and desperation for a female companion. At first Victor refuses, but then the monster reveals a sense of responsibility that he was given when as the creator. He also reveals all his evil actions are due to his desperate lonliliness, and promises to take his new companion to South America, to hide in the jungle. The monster explains that with the sympathy of another creature he will not feel the urge to kill. Victor agrees after these arguments, but the monster does not fully trust him and says he will keep an eye on the progress. He also tells Victor there is no need to contact him when he is done.


Theme

In this chapter the theme is acceptance. We the meaning And power of acceptance throughout the monsters arguments with Victor. We can see that being accepted can change ones attitude from when the monster says That having the compassion and sympathy from someone else Will not make one completely happy but will help save him from the misery he is currently experiencing. Showing us that accepting someone allows them to feel loved, but although they may not be completely happy, but they will not be completely miserable.






Video 




This video reminded me of Frankenstein, because it is about people in modern day society, who want to be loved despite their differences. These people want to be accepted, and seen as a person, despite whether an amputee, deaf or a diabetic, they just want someone to see past this, and accept them for who they are as a person.
